What Hello Burg keeps, and what it doesn't
No accounts
There's no sign-up. Your browser gets a random ID in a cookie so we can count visits and remember that you scanned an object's code. It isn't linked to your name, email or phone.
Your location
Your location stays on this page to show which objects are awake near you. When you start a conversation, it's sent once so the object can check you're beside it. It is never stored. We keep only which object you visited and when.
What you type
Replies in a conversation are deleted when the conversation ends. If AI voices are switched on, what you type is sent to an AI service to write the object's reply.
Messages and reflections you leave are kept so later visitors can hear them. They're anonymous, and they're checked (automatically, and sometimes by a person) before anyone else sees them. Objects may retell them in their own words, and reflections at an artwork may be summarized, anonymously, in a public report (for example on Instagram). Please don't include names, phone numbers or links; messages that do are held back.
